how come when im … how come when im waxing my skiis the wax sometimes will only stay on for a few runs..am i not heating the ski up enough? or am i heating it up to much?
ok video but man … ok video but man are you wasting a bunch of wax doing it that way…best way to wax is to quickly rub the wax on the iron then rub it on the skis. you will waste much less wax that way. Cheers!!!
well a basic … well a basic environmental nightmare would happen, wax is a hydrocarbon solid state oil if you will. The idea of sprinkling the slopes in oil is horrific… you, erm, an American by chance?
The reason you scrape the wax off is that your scraping the wax you can see off, the rest has soaked into the pores of the board/ski. too much wax and it will be grippier. If there was 2 inches of oil on the floor it wouldn’t be a slippy as just a few microns.
I just waxed my … I just waxed my snowboard, and I did exactly what you told me, and my snowboard ended up really sticky, even after scraped the wax off. I’m afraid I might’ve messed my board up!
you scrap the wax … you scrap the wax off because the wax you put on gets absorbed into the pores and you are scraping the extra wax that didn’t get into the pores. plus that extra wax fills in the structure of the ski or board which channels away the water.
i have a question, … i have a question, (im not sayiing this is possible or anything) but what would happen if a hill used a huge sprinkler (like u see in crops) and sprayed spray on wax all over the hill?
I just got into … I just got into skiing last year and would love to learn how to care for my skis on my own. Your video was very informative on how to wax your ski. But you didn’t talk about buffing the ski after scrapping the wax off. What kind of buffer should I use?…keep up the good work.
