You want the wax to fill the spots that have little scrapes and such, not to cover the board. The wax is just to fill in spots on the base, and give you a smooth surface on the bottom of the board.

when you scrape off the wax, theres alot that came off. can you reuse it? what are the benifets to hot waxing to spray waxing? also can i use the iron i use at home? it has holes and i want to know if i can put a rag on the bottom to keep the wax out of the holes of the bottom of the iron.

board have pores and when they are heated they absorb the wax … the excess is actually going to slow your board down a ton and is not even… scraping is essential

@ManchesterUCR7 A vice is handy, but not necessary. You can stack books, wood, crates or anything else under it so you get a flat stable surface to work on. For summer storage, coat with wax and dont scrape at all. This will keep your base from drying out.
